I never wanted to leave the house! We already had plane tickets though to travel 2 weeks after dx, so we were kind of thrown into it all! It is such an amazing feeling to accomplish all those firsts and know you can do it. Since starting on the pump a couple weeks ago, I have had some of those feelings I had when she was first diagnosed. I was scared to leave the house again with her! So now we are experiencing firsts all over again while on the pump. I am happy to hear your experience with flying was non eventful.NikDuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00339827779693006419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5586586833786280974.post-59981061846282920682012-08-19T23:15:23.388-07:002012-08-19T23:15:23.388-07:00We did have a blast! We didn't allow any of her electronics (PDM, extra pods, etc) to go through x-ray screening...which means she didn't go through x-ray screening, either and they were super accomodating. No pat-down, just a thorough search of the bag and swiping of hands to check for whatever.

SF to San Diego is a LONG drive! We have to set a temp basal of +50% for car rides. Not so for airplane rides for some reason - the altitude perhaps? But definitely for car rides. I started out at +10% and worked my way up every 2 hours until I found what worked.

Hope you have a great trip and if you get stranded, or end up visiting Ventura County, let me know!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05554442882201698171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5586586833786280974.post-30316174098344727682012-08-19T23:06:56.150-07:002012-08-19T23:06:56.150-07:00Hi Summer!
